Frequently Asked Questions

  • I'm feeling nervous about calling, what is therapy like?

I understand that making that first call can be scary and intimidating. Whether you’ve had experience in therapy or it’s your first time, it can be tough to start the process or know what to expect. Therapy is going to be a little different for everyone. Some people need a safe space to talk. Some need to build skills, like anger management or mindfulness or parenting. Let’s work together to create an individual plan to meet your personal needs.

  • What do you mean by children's therapy?

Children’s therapy will look a little different than therapy with adults. Children, especially younger children, don’t necessarily have the language to communicate their needs and feelings the way adults can. Children speak in the language of play. Play therapy has been shown to help children express their inner thoughts, process experiences, and regulate their emotions. I encourage you to check out my Resources Library for a deeper dive on this transformational therapy. I am more than happy to answer any questions you have during our consultation.

  • What if I don't like therapy or we don't click?

That’s a totally valid concern! Therapy is deeply personal and the connection between client and therapist is incredibly important. If we’re not the right fit, that doesn’t mean therapy isn’t for you, rather it is an opportunity to seek a partnership that works for you. I welcome an open conversation about how things are feeling. If it turns out I’m not the right person for you, I’ll gladly help you find someone who is. You deserve to feel safe, supported, and seen in this work.

What can I expect in therapy with you?

To get a flavor of how I approach therapy, here’s a video I have encouraged most of my clients to watch. This TED Talk by Emily and Amelia Nagoski cuts through the noise about burnout. Instead of surface-level fixes, they offer real, science-backed insight into how to complete the stress cycle and feel human again. It aligns with how I approach burnout and stress in therapy: with compassion, nervous system awareness, and real connection.

If this resonates, let’s connect.
